As is my custom around the holidays, I take this time to reflect and project. This is the time of year where, as we draw to a close, I’m assessing my growth in some areas and proclaiming where I’d like to develop next.

This year, my roles have changed and I’m thinking about how grateful I am for the lessons associated with those changes and how awesome it will be to embark on the next phase of the journey.

My life is nothing like I thought it would be when I did this last year – I’m back in my hometown of New York City, unemployed and almost unmarried; I have a new child and new responsibilities as a caretaker for my mom. I’m learning what it truly means to be a matriarch and an empress as I commit to raising a little prince and creating a new legacy for his life.

Believe me, I’ve had more than enough reasons this year to give in and give up, but it’s just not my style. Instead I remain thankful – thankful for my friends and family (my village, me people); thankful for the new experiences and the new skills and understanding that come with them; thankful that the Source, the Provider is always in my corner. I’ve never gone a day without food, shelter, clothing, or medical care (which I’ve needed a lot of this year). I’m thankful for the resurrection of unconditional self-love, that I remember my worth and as a result have been able to create experiences that lead to manifesting the desires of my heart.

I’m also thankful for you – my readers. This year, I vowed to share more of my life with you; more of trials and triumphs. I put myself out there in an effort to demonstrate the power of positivity and Deliberate Intention in our lives.

As I shared many of my hurts, hurdles and inner-healing, I was reminded that my words travel so much farther than my little laptop or Blackberry screens. I had the joy of meeting many of you and hearing your stories. So many of you expressed that sharing my process was the catalyst for your own self-review and healing.

You cannot know how much it has meant to me. So this year, I thank you and I am thankful for you.

Here’s to a happy and healthy Turkey Day! So tell me…what are you thankful for?
