I’m a day behind schedule, so you’ll notice 2 posts today. Since I took a hiatus last month to tend to my affairs, I wanted to be certain that this month I was diligent about maintaining a virtual presence – especially via blog.

I was particularly pressed about this post because it is something I have thought of often in this past month, which re-emerged today in church.

I’ve often spoken on here about opposition and adversity. I have mentioned that we must arm ourselves against such hardships – not by preventing them…that is impossible, but rather by changing our perceptions of them when they show up in our lives.

Well, I want to give you another incentive to push forward through any opposition that you may encounter: you have something worth fighting for.

See, wherever the is good there is evil; wherever the is light there is dark; wherever there is advancement there is opposition. Why? Because (this is my faith showing through here) there are forces in the unseen that know what you have asked for. They see it coming down the pipeline before you do. These forces know what you are set to inherit and they don’t want you to have it.

Robbers aren’t stupid. Thieves don’t go to vacant homes. Your spiritual home, your storage in the unseen, is full of all the promises you’ve made to yourself; all your hopes, dreams and ambitions. This space contains your future – everything you have coming to you if you just hold on and hold out.

But there are opposing forces in the unseen realms that get a glimpse of all this good fortune long before you do. Because they have no tolerance for anything remotely positive or beneficial they come to seek, kill and destroy whatever you possess that might be just that. They break into your spiritual home and start ransacking the place. They loot, pillage and plunder. And if you don’t fight the good fight, they’ll run off into the night with your hopes, your dreams, your self-esteem and your self-respect.

Like anything in the spiritual realm, these forces have physical representatives. You may have seen them already and not known who they were: Unforgiving, Depression, Anger, Resentment, Doubt, Bitterness, Hate, Anxiety, Fear, Shame, Heartache, Lies, Betrayal, Rejection, Pride, Jealousy, Lust, Lasciviousness, Recklessness.

When we think of someone sabotaging our hopes and dreams, we often think about naysayers and Doubting Thomases who crush our dreams with their pessimistic skews of reality. Then there are the people who lie to us, betray us and use us for their personal gains.

But what about self-sabotage?

If you’re being honest with yourself, are you guarding your spiritual homes from thieves – or are you leaving step stools outside beneath your wide open windows?

The fact is, you have plenty worth stealing. Those million dollar ideas, those contacts, your winning personality and your genuine desire to make the world a better place for everyone to live…that’s worth stealing. In order to guard yourself from such attacks, you have to KNOW what’s in your home.

Take inventory. What are your goals and ambitions? How would making your dreams a reality change the world for the better? What’s unique about your ideas?

No matter what your answers, you must understand that they’re worth fighting for. After all, what would life be like if you never saw any of your hard work actualized?

On second thought, let’s not find out. Get connected, get doing and get ‘er done.

Good luck and Namaste.
